2012 BBQ a Huge Success!
Thanks to everyone who worked this year's BBQ fundraiser event. By all accounts, it was one of the smoothest run operations ever. We cooked 12,000 pounds of boston butt pork, and sold out. If you have a ticket for pre-sold BBQ, please make arrangements to pick up your order before February 2. After February 2, any pounds remaining in our freezers will be resold or used for charity. We've heard this year's meat is some of the best ever. Send us an email and let us know what you thought of it!

Always looking for a few new Scouts!
Do you want to know more about Scouting? Perhaps you're new in town and looking for a troop to join? You've come to the right place!
Though Troop 355 hosted an Open House recruitment event at Sharon United Methodist Church (SUMC) on Thursday, August 26, we are always open to welcoming new or transferring Scouts. Come by and sit in on a regular Troop Meeting any Monday at 7pm.
At the Open House, Scouts gave skills demonstrations on activities ranging from outdoor cooking, first aid, pioneering, Pinewood Derby, and pop rockets. A slide show presentation of past Troop 355 outings was shown in the Wesley Center, and Scout leaders were on hand to answer questions about Scout activities and troop organization.
SUMC is located on Sharon Road between Colony and Fairview (across from the main entrance of the SouthPark Mall, and across the street from the Morrowcroft Harris Teeter).

THE 2012 BBQ IS A WRAP -- WE'RE STILL SELLING SAUCE & BRUNSWICK STEW!
Our annual January BBQ fundraiser event makes it possible for us to provide our boys all of the wonderful opportunities and experiences available through the Scouting program. A portion of the profits are also given back to the community, both local and worldwide, each year.
We cooked 12,000 pounds of 'que and we sold out this year!
Each December, we bottle three kinds of our own secret recipe sauces: Eastern Mild, Eastern Hot, and Western (tomato-based) - and we still have sauce available for purchase. Folks tell us they love the sauces on the meat alone or blend sauces for even more flavor. BBQ sauce also makes a super marinade and basting sauce for both pork and poultry. We actually sold out of Western sauce last year and had to make some more! Sauces are priced at $4.00/pint.
So, how to buy some of our “Best in the Galaxy” BBQ? The BBQ is cooked the third week in January each year. BBQ ($10/pound), BBQ sauces ($4.00), and Brunswick Stew ($10/qt or $5/pt) can be ordered all year (while supplies last). Contact Gary (at the email address listed below) or any Troop 355 Boy Scout or adult to place an order. You can also download an order form (see link below) and mail in your order form and payment.
To purchase BBQ and sauce via mail or email, contact: Gary, or download an order form and mail it to Gary (see link below). |
